Informacje o zabiegu
Tongue frenulum is an anatomical structure that connects the lower part of tongue with lower part of mouth. Under normal conditions, the tongue should have a significant mobility. It can easily reach all parts of the oral cavity. For some people, free movement of the tongue is impossible. This is because of too short frenulum. We call this ankyloglossia professionally. The most effective treatment is tongue frenotomy incision. The procedure is painless and performed under local anaesthesia. It lasts very short and consists in incising the fibrous fold of tongue. After surgery, the patient receives appropriate painkillers. In case of later pain, associated with the operation, traditional painkillers are recommended. The patient may return home on the same day, no longer hospitalization is necessary. It is important that after treatment, the patient should report to the speech therapist. Further rehabilitation is necessary; it prevents lichens, secondary growth of tongue. In addition, teaches the patient to lift the tongue upwards, which is necessary for correct pronunciation.
